America's Auto Choice (AAC) is a pre-owned wholesale vehicle locating/buying service that began operations at the end of 2001.
Jeff R. Lewis, President of AAC, began working in the auto business in Austin in 1996. About that time, during dinner with a friend, Jeff received his first 'locate' order for a specific pickup truck on the back of a napkin. Jeff told him how much he thought it would cost, went out that week to find it and then bought the specific truck quickly delivering it to his friend! It seemed so easy he thought it must be illegal! Of course discovering that it wasn't, he knew he was on to something big. Due to demand from business associates, neighbors and friends, he found himself shopping for late-model pre-owned vehicles more and more, to the point where that quickly became his primary business focus and how AAC evolved.
The business plan became simple: Low tech, High touch. Set up shop just like Dell. Sell the product before it's even purchased. Keep costs down by not trying to guess what customers want, but instead finding out first. Since 1996, we have built a strong reputation of delivering on what we say we would do. If you are reading this, you probably were referred by a friend. We have discovered that our way of doing business is much less stressful than the traditional method of calling people, driving to some remote place to see a vehicle that doesn't seem quite as nice as it did on the phone. It also isn't like going from dealer to dealer getting the same runaround wasting time and money, eventually settling for some car you hadn't planned on in the first place. Helping people not have to deal with these scenarios is why we are in this business and why this business is growing! We have found a better way to make money while competing with the larger franchise dealerships.
